Tribute to Dino Dvornik

Almost twenty years have passed since the untimely passing of Dino Dvornik, the Croatian king of funk, whose style, versatility, energy, innovation, musicality and individuality brought previously unimaginable freshness to Croatian music, pushed boundaries and set new production standards.

A singer, performer, composer, lyricist and producer — Dino Dvornik embodied all of this in his unique creative personality — and even more: as a multi-instrumentalist, author and arranger, he set new standards with his music, creatively and skilfully combining musicality, humour, dance rhythms and styles, as well as technological innovations in line with global achievements.

From his first solo studio album, simply titled Dino Dvornik, through collaborations with Zlatan Stipišić Gibonni, Josipa Lisac, Rambo Amadeus, Davor Gobac, Songkillers and many others, to his final, seventh studio album Pandora’s Box and the posthumously awarded Porin Lifetime Achievement Award, the creative legacy of Dino Dvornik has left an indelible mark on Croatian music and become permanently embedded in the collective consciousness of generations — both those who grew up with Dino and those yet to come.

The HRT Jazz Orchestra pays tribute to his legacy with performances of hits that have, to this day, achieved anthology status, such as Pelin i med, Ti si mi u mislima, Ja bih preživio, Zašto praviš slona od mene, Jače manijače, Ljubav se zove imenom tvojim, Rušila sam mostove od sna … and many others. In this interpretation, the HRT Jazz Orchestra, conducted by Miron Hauser, is joined by guests, the outstanding vocalists Sabrina Hebiri and Mario Huljev.
